    Double Tap

Hi all. I'm new to the forum.

I'd really like to see a "double tap" feature. For example I've got 1 switch controlling my kitchen ceiling light and each set of recess lighting (4 insteon dimmers total) and it'd be really nice to be able to tap the switch once to turn the ceiling light on and tap a second time to also turn on the recess lighting.

(Please excuse and grammar, spelling, or punctuation errors. I'm on my phone)

An ISY is capable of doing that. So can Insteon software. The Hub cannot do that.

You can also manually link your kitchen light switch to the recessed lights in the "Off" position. Example: put the kitchen light switch in link mode and then make sure the recessed lights are off.
Older switches required you to follow it up with a single tap of the set button on the switch you turned off. Now press and hold the set button in on the recessed light switch for three seconds.
Taping the kitchen switch on one will turn just the one load on but a double tab or fast on will turn them both on.

HI , I was able to set up double taps with the the house linc software on my PC ( for things like fast on and secondary lights to come on only with double tap). I did it manually by in linking mode set up the swithc in link then double tapping to test it and it stuck.. I think there is something in the detial maual for the switch that shows manual double tap set up.. it is inherent in all of the new swtiches ( except toggles i believe)

All Insteon devices have double tap (fast on) capability. It's about how you link you device more than the device itself. Toggle switches are capable of fast on as well
