    120/240v electric heat thermostat

I am surprised that Insteon has not yet brought this to market.

For now need 3 devices to get decent electric line volt heater control:

    1) Aube TH115 thermostats or similar

    2) I/O link - which activates relay on TH115 (messy cabling and outlet needed)

    3) insteon thermostat - to automate above based on desired temperature

Cost of all these is close to $200 not to mention complicated install

There are companies out there that offer WIFI thermostat control for a cost about $150 for 2 thermostats....with nice user friendly interfaces and simple programming.

Insteon is loosing a lot of customers!!!

I am still undecided which route I will pursue...

The Aube RCT840T can be directly wired to a Insteon Thermostat. With the relay controlling the 240 volt AC heating. They use to also make a 120 volt model for 120 volt heating.

Yes I looked into this option, it is on/off only, unlike modern electric thermostats which have few second timing intervals depending on temperature needed. I am not sure if this would make it most comfortable for temperature control. Anyways still 2 devices, $50 plus over $100 for jnsteon thermostat. Competition at $75 per thermostat. twice as expensive and 2 times more installation complexity.
