I have a 4-way (3 switches 1 load) installation to do and wanted to know if it is required to install an Insteon switch at every location. That can get expensive. I am using a toggle because there are other switches that I do not want to replace right now. Thanks in advance.

All the switches have to be changed to Togglelincs or Switchlincs.
In your setup. You would wire Line and Neutral to all the switch boxes to power the Insteon switches. Cap off the load wires on the two not controlling the Load and connect the Load on the third one. Then cross link each one to the others.

Insteon devices even allow you to have a different On-level and ramp rate at each location if desired. What fits your situation may not fit everyone else. It costs more to give that flexibility.
Try this with any other protocol--switch A turns on loads B and C and switch C controls load A, but not B. And switch B turns on only load B, not A or C.
You can't get Ferrari performance for the price of a Ford.
