    Insteon 2864-226 camera setup

I've been struggling to setup an Insteon 2864-226 camera for use as a security camera in my home when I'm away.

It's not clear from what I've read that the camera can operate as a standalone device--without the use of an Insteon hub. I can get the camera to connect to my Mac laptop when it's plugged into my ethernet LAN, but can't get anywhere with the app on my iphone, nor can I connect with my laptop via wi-fi -- ethernet unplugged.

Any hints on how I can get this to work? Any help is much appreciated!

    Cheers,
    Tom

The camera is available as a stand alone device. Have you followed the steps for WiFi access?

Thanks for the reply. I have not forwarded a port on my router... Is there a tutorial you can direct me to? Or a quick explanation of how to do it?

      Thanks!
