    Using the Indoor Camera Outdoors

I just had my outdoor camera die on me (less than a year old) but I have 3 indoor cameras that work perfectly. I have on of those camera's in my garage, which at it's coldest get to around 0°C (32°F), which is within the operating temperature in the specs 0-40°C (32-104°F). I don't notice any function drop off when garage is at it's coldest. I am reluctant to buy another outdoor camera since this one died so quickly and I really like the indoor cameras, so my question is if anyone has tried using the indoor camera outdoors? Or ran into any issues while doing it? FYI the temperature where I live averages -15° C (5°F) in it's coldest month, but definitely gets to -30°C (-22°F) at least a handful of days in the winter.

If the camera is in a closed garage, then it's not outdoors. But, the camera may become inoperative during the coldest spells. There are heated camera enclosures available. Or, maybe you could build one

Realizing this post is kind of old...

I have Foscam equivalent of the Insteon camera in my unheated detached garage. The building itself gets cold soaked in the winter as it is used to store the summer cars so no heat is ever added except for the sun hitting it. During the Polar Vortex we had a few years ago I'm sure it was well below zero in it for a few days and the camera survived fine and is still in use.

I also use a camera under my Sunsetter awning attached to the wall. The thing has gotten wet, but never soaked, and looks kind of dirty and beat up but is also working fine.
