Mini Remote 4/8 scene change not recognized

I purchased a 4 scene mini remote and changed from the 4 scene mode to 8 scene mode as shown in the manual. I noticed that when I pair it to the Hub with an iphone it is only recognized as a 4 scene remote. I looks like the app looks at the device ID. I used the API and changed the number of groups for the device from 4 to 8 and can get the proper 8 button image to appear but it will only recognize the first 4 buttons.

We need an option to specifically add a 4 or 8 button remote or have the app read the device settings before adding it to the hub.

Sounds like it is reading the Remotes Catalog and SubCatalog number that will always identify it a s 4 scene model.
I would hope that the App would allow you to change it or read its present mode.
