Motion sensor II problems

I Have a motion sensor II that I want to install in my bathroom to turn the light on when you walk in and off after half hour. The problem is that if you turn the light switch off when you leave it won't turn it back on when you walk in until the 30 minute timer elapses. So it doesn't appear to work in conjunction with a light switch. So if someone is in the shower and someone turns all the lights in the house off the person in the shower can't wave his hand and turn the light back on unless 30 minutes have elapsed. Doesn't seem very useful of a device if it won't turn the light on every time there is motion

Are you using any type Insteon Controller like a HUB, ISY994i or are you using direct Set Button linking between them?
The sensor has some options that have to be set through a controller and not available with direct Set Button sequences.
