I have one of these [URL]https://docs.usautomatic.com/pro/manuals/openers/500001_patriot_manual_english.pdf[/URL] controlling my gate and am planning to throw an IOLinc at it. The gate has AC power and isn’t too far from the house so the power line range shouldn’t be limiting.
actuating the gate from the IOLinc doesn’t seem hard, as there’s a documented pin for a push button opener that I can use directly. But I’m unclear how I would detect if it’s open or closed. I see there’s an optional solenoid module for that gate that I might be able to hook up to the IOLinc’s input but was hoping there was a more straightforward way that I was missing for that gate to report its status. Anyone done anything like this?
