Replacement Cable

Sorry to cross-post this to 2 forums, but there's very little activity on the Serial PLM forum....

I got a 2413S via e-bay, but it did not come with a cable. To complicate matters, I also don't have a 9-pin serial port on the Linux (ubuntu) machine that I want to connect the PLM to, though I do have open USB ports.

Will this work: https://www.amazon.com/Console-Essen...o+serial+cable

Or do I need to buy a separate 9-pin to RJ45 serial cable and usb to 9-pin adapter (e.g. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ZDU22Z1E&psc=1 and https://www.amazon.com/VONOTO-Serial...9+pin+serial)?

Thanks,

Bruce

This should work for direct communication to the PLM.

The 2413S PLM users guide will give you the three connections used for the RJ45 Plug the DB9 connector. If you didn't get it you can download it from the link on the Smarthome sales web page.
Some of the other connections on the 2413S PLM's RJ45 jack are Serial TTL so be careful not to connect them to anything.
