Any suggestions for monitoring/alerting upon loss of grid power?

I do not yet have an Insteon system. I am still researching. I was wondering if there is a means of alerting via text or email when the power goes out. Obviously, I have UPS power for my networking infrastructure, and would add the Insteon hub to that UPS.

    Thanks.

That's an easy task if your UPS doesn't wipe out the INSTEON signal. Connect the NC contacts of an I/O linc to the external contacts of an On/Off Module. Set the I/O Linc for latching and turn on the relay. Set the On/Off module to send an alert when turned on.

I don't think you want to use an I/O Linc for that, it's not rated for that much voltage. Maybe use the sense lines of a Micro Module instead?

        Oops, wrong device

Wire the I/O Linc to an Open/Close Sensor, not an On/Off Module. If power is lost, then you need a battery powered device to send a signal.
