Keypad dimmer not controlling dimmer switch

I have an 8 button keypad, I’m trying to get the “B” button to control a dimmer switch at a remote location. When I put the switch into linking mode and link the “B “ button, the backlight works but a push of the “B” button will not control the remote switch. I have tried cross linking but can’t get it to work.
    TIA

My guess would be, NO! I have unlinked the keypad and switch and relinked them. Works great, thanks!

One thing I noticed was the keypad doesn’t show “on” till till switch is at 100% bright. Design, fail, or oversight? Thanks again!
sometimes I miss the thumbwheel, house code/ unit code! Goes to show my age🥺

Light switches are fairly mundane objects. Few of us pay much attention subwaylistens to them as long as they turn the lights off and on, or dim the lighting in a room. But smart devices of course aren't satisfied with just doing one thing.
