Insteon Thermostat 2441TH - AC won't turn on.

I just hooked up my new thermostat.
The preexisting wires were exactly what the book said I would find.
But now the AC won't turn on. Cooling and Heating seem to both crank up my heater.

Any suggestions?

Is the AC using a Heat Pump?
The 2441TH is not compatible with Heat Pump type AC.

In addition to what BLH wrote, often the color of the wire is different from what's expected. That is, the colors are there, but they're connected differently. What is important is the particular terminal each wire is connected to, not the color.

I see that now in the documentation.
This weekend I've learned more about AC than I thought I ever would.

The terminals on my old thermostat are as follows:
G, R, O, W2, C, Y, E


Does anyone know if the Venstar T1900 would be an appropriate replacement?

Where would the E wire (Ember) go?


I also see that for the cost of the Venstar + Insteon Adapter, I could just buy a Nest.
Has anyone had success integrating Nest with Insteon and connecting it up to a heat pump?
