Programming remote/not right application for remote

I bought a couple of the mini remotes thinking that they would be a good solution to my intermittent issues with Alexa not playing ball with my Insteon hub. I basically have Alexa controlling my lights via the Insteon hub - no replacement light switches.

I thought, seeing as you cannot override Insteon bulbs with the light switch, like you can Philips Hue bulbs, I could get a couple of the mini remotes and have them as switches to control the lights when my Echo devices have a fit ;-)

I don't see how I can associate the mini remote though with the Rooms/Scenes that I have defined though to work the lights. I have Kitchen as a room/scene with 6 bulbs and Morning room with 4 bulbs but I don't see how to make the connection to the remotes to set on/off/dim for the rooms. I also have a House scene to control all lights so would like to add that as a house off button.

If anyone has some good pointers or resources I would really appreciate it. I got the mini remote into the Insteon setup showing as a device but that was it. I'm so lost!

    Thanks for any help!

I'll try again but did not have much luck with the programming using the iOS app. Is that the preferred method vs say the Windows 10 app?

    Thank you for your help!

Thank you, I finally got through programming a couple of scenes and buttons! It seems a totally over complicated process with all the button pressing

For most devices, if you have the Insteon ID, then button pushing is minimized or not needed at all.
