    Hub II & Static IP

Hi. Is there a reason why the led turns red when I use a static ip? I changed the ip and did the power cycle and the led remains red. Thanks in advance.

I had the same issue a while ago, and the solution was not to use a static IP address. Not sure if it's going to be fixed in a future firmware update or not.

The Hub II is not set up for a static IP address...which you all figured out. ;)

The Hub checks in at the top of each hour to update the servers with the current external IP. This, coupled with the long-poll process, negates the need for port forwarding. The process allows the Hub to be an entry level device and not require invasive set up in the router by the end user. You can still set a static IP in the ISY994i if that is necessary for your system.
