Link two 2477D switches

I've read all the instructions and have two switches 2477D that all I want to do is GROUP as a standard 3-way. So that if one is used to turn on / dim lights it is in sync with the other. I had this working fine but as soon as I connected one of them to the HUB 2242 it lost being linked to each other. How do I have these switches connected to the HUB for remote control and maintain being linked? I don't want to do a SCENE in the iOS software as this seems more clicks and cumbersome. I rather just want to select one of the switches, adjust, and be done. Which one I pick and use shouldn't matter.

The definition of a scene is anytime an Insteon device controls one or more other Insteon devices. It doesn't matter if use manual linking, software linking, app linking, a scene must be created.

OK, so I created a scene and now when using the switches on the wall they stay in sync. However as soon as I use one of the switches on the app they don't stay in sync. Why?

When you control a switch, only that switch is controlled, not any of its links. If you want to control more that one device, then you need to control the scene.

Well again bad design!! They are dimmer switches and with a scene I see no way to dim them and keep them in sync. There has to be a better way!!

If both devices are included in a single scene, then you should be able to control them in sync by controlling the scene from the App or by manually pressing either paddle. Are you not able to do that?

Correct, both devices are in a scene and there is no way to dim. It is just ON or OFF...

Tap on the + at the bottom of the scene icon.

Got it and now I can dim them, and this is a user experience issue. They need a consistent UI. One switch doesn't need that and a scene requires that extra click to get there to do that. Much opportunity for improvement...
