    thermostat 2441th

Just received an insteon home kit containing a thermostat model number2441th however my old thermostat has only two wires, one red and one white can one get this model thermostat to operate with just those two wires

    Heat only?
Venstar makes a two wire heat only adapter that can supply the needed power for the 2441TH and simulate the original dry closure from the thermostat

The Insteon Thermostat requires a separate power source to run it. The two wires you have now simply bring the heat on (touch the wires together and it calls for heat)

Do you have ability to run new wires? perhaps use the old ones to pull a new wire through? If so you simply need to pick up a power supply

You may want to see if there is a unused wire to the original thermostat and look at the control unit on the furnace. To see what the terminals are labeled.
If there is a R, W & C. Then you maybe able to add the necessary power from C. If yours is like mine and just has two marked T. Then an external power source will be needed.
