    Insteon Diagnostic Tool

Insteon released a trouble shooting tool for about a year and shortly there after stopped selling it. From the initial documents it had some basic abilities to assist the installer. The company should build upon that same device and make it better. With features and testing tools to help determine power line / RF signal strength.

I would think that such a feature could be added into the Hubs. Just like any network, the health could be determined by the number of failures. A lot of the device will/should report back. If a command was sent, but a report was not returned, there may be an issue. If it’s one device, then that’s that. But, if 3-4 are having an issue, maybe there is a repeater out or some new source of RF interference. Either way the system is not operating as it should.

I've used the free HouseLinc's Signalling Diagnostics tool along with a Hub.

Many of the diagnostic Keypads functions did not work with the older Insteon protocols. So for users with older modules. It was a limited help in troubleshooting at best.
