    2466 won't turn on light

I am trying to install a 2466s. This will be the third I installed today. First two went fine. The thrid will not turn on the light. The set button will light up and it will click but the lighs will not turn on an off. It is only controlling a single fluorescent light. Any suggestions.

This is for a room in the basement and I did not realize there was a second switch. Now I have to figure out a multiswitch configuration.

Describe the wiring in each switch box (e.g., one 2-wire, one 3-wire cable or one 3-wire cable). You can disregard any ground wires.

In any case, as least one white wire in a multi-way configuration is not a neutral wire and black is not always line.

I will get a complete wire count. One question first. Can you do a 3 way switch with an insteon and a mechanical switch for the same light?

Just found the answer on another post.\

It's also possible to remove/bypass one switch and replace the other one with an Insteon device. You can easily replace the bypassed switch with an Insteon device later, if desired.

This is the wiring. 2 wall switches.

                1. 2 wires going into the back of the box.
                 1. white and black wire both capped.
2 pink, black, white and ground. The black is hot with 120v.
                2. 3 wires going into the back of the box.
1 white and black both goes into the nuts with other white and black wires respectively.
                 2. red white black. the black goes into a nut with all of the blacks. The white goes into the nut with the other blacks Red goes into switch
3 pink white black. pink is hot. Black goes into the nut. White goes into switch.

At box 1: Were the black and white wires already capped?

At box 2: Red goes to the original switch or to the SwitchLinc? Same question regarding the white wire.

Also, you will have to find the other end of the 3-wire cable that has red. black and white. The most like place is at the fixture.

The black and white were already capped.

Box 2 red goes to the original swwitch. The switchinc goes to box 1 right now.

Is the red wire connected to a black screw?

Do you mean wire. If so then I do not think so. Just into the switch.

If you have a 3-way configuration, then the switch has three screws. Two are brass and one is black. What is each screw connected to?

The wires do not attach to screws other than ground. They are inserted into small hoes in back of switch.

One of the holes has a label different from the other two, often marked COM, but it could be something else. What color wire is in that hole?
