    2-wire 3-way switch

I am trying to create a 3-way switch set up with two two-wire switches. The first switch I have connected the hot wire and load wire to the line and load wires on my 2474DWHR switch. This switch will work perfectly and connect to the hub when the hot and load wires are connected together via wire nut on the other side. Next, in the second outlet, I tried to connect the hot/load wires to the line/load wires of the second switch and both don't work in that configuration.

I've tried different combinations of exchanging/combining the load and follower wires but can't seem to get it to work correctly. I don't want to get too adventurous and burn up the switch since I'm fairly new to this.

    What should I do?

The 2-wire Insteon switch is not meant to be used in a 3-way configuration. Some users have found success if one of the switches is an Insteon 3-wire device (line, neutral, load), but there's no guarantee that'll always work.

Are the switches you're replacing part of an original 3-way configuration? Or does each control a separate load?

Thanks for the info. Yes they are currently in a 3-way configuration. The two switches aren't terribly far apart so I will probably just wire the second outlet so the first always works and put a blank plate over it.

Virtually every 3-way configuration can be re-connected using the existing wiring that will allow using a SwitchLinc On/Off or Dimmer. Any particular reason that you chose 2-wire switches instead?

Also, how did you wire the 2-wire switches? In any 3-way configuration only one switch box can have the line, white is usually not a neutral, red is not the load and black is not always the line.
